A WWII underwater museum at 30 metres

The SS Thistlegorm is one of the world’s most iconic wreck dives. This British cargo ship was sunk during World War II in 1941 and still holds motorcycles, trucks, rifles, railway wagons, and other wartime cargo, creating an unforgettable underwater museum.

1 Early Morning

Hotel Pickup & Marina

From 5:00 AM

Your adventure begins with an early hotel pickup in an air-conditioned vehicle. We’ll transfer you to the marina, where you’ll meet your dive guide, prepare your equipment, and board the boat for an unforgettable journey to the legendary SS Thistlegorm.

2 Breakfast & Cruise

Sail to SS Thistlegorm

A light breakfast is served on board as we cruise towards the wreck. During the journey, your dive guide will provide a detailed briefing covering the day’s schedule, wreck diving procedures, safety, and expected conditions.

3 First Dive

Explore the SS Thistlegorm

45–60 minutes

Discover one of the world’s most famous wreck dives. Explore the cargo holds and exterior of the SS Thistlegorm, home to motorcycles, trucks, railway carriages, ammunition, and a wide variety of Red Sea marine life. Your guide will adapt the dive route to the conditions and the experience level of the dive group.

4 Lunch

Fresh Buffet on Board

Between Dives

Recharge with a freshly prepared buffet lunch featuring chicken, meatballs, potatoes, pasta, rice, salads, fresh bread, and seasonal fruit. Water, soft drinks, tea, and coffee are available throughout the day.

5 Surface Interval & Second Dive

Discover More of the Wreck

45–60 minutes

After your surface interval, return to the SS Thistlegorm for a second dive, exploring areas you couldn’t see during the first dive. Depending on conditions, your guide may choose a different section of the wreck, allowing you to experience even more of this incredible underwater museum.

6 Optional Third Dive

Stay Underwater Longer

Available on Request

If time and conditions allow, an optional third dive may be available on the return journey. Simply let your dive guide know while you’re on board, and we’ll arrange it if available. Additional charges apply.

7 Late Afternoon

Return to Your Hotel

By ~5:30 PM

After an unforgettable day diving the legendary SS Thistlegorm, we cruise back to the marina before transferring you comfortably to your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh.

Frequently asked questions

What certification do I need?
This trip requires an Advanced certification or higher for all divers. It is not suitable for beginners.
Why is a check dive required?
A check dive (€50 per person) is required if the SS Thistlegorm is your only diving day with us. The check dive is automatically waived when you book any other diving day with us. It may also be waived if you have recently dived with our team, which you can simply self-declare during booking.
Is diving equipment included?
Diving equipment is not included in the trip price. You can add full equipment or single items during checkout, or bring your own.
Do different experience levels dive with different guides?
Yes. We group divers by certification level, experience, and air consumption whenever possible. Each group is led by an experienced dive guide to ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable diving experience for everyone.
Are hotel transfers included?
Yes — transfers to and from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh are included in the price.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred date, especially in peak season. We also accept last-minute bookings depending on availability — contact us anytime to check for open slots!
When will I receive my pick-up time?
After your reservation is confirmed, our team will contact you with your exact hotel pick-up time and all the details you need for your trip.
What should I bring?
Your certification card, a copy of your passport, a towel, swimwear and reef-safe sunscreen.
