“The most rewarding course I’ve ever done. Essam pushed us through realistic scenarios and I came out a far more confident, aware diver. Exhausting in the best way!”

“Tito was brilliant at building us up scenario by scenario. Rescuing an ‘unconscious’ diver and towing them in felt so real — I finally feel ready for anything underwater.”

Become a certified PADI Rescue Diver

The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to recognise, prevent and respond to common diving emergencies. Widely regarded as the most rewarding PADI course, it changes the way you dive — making you a more confident, capable and safety-minded buddy.

Through knowledge development and realistic in-water rescue scenarios, you’ll practise self-rescue, assisting tired and panicked divers, managing an unresponsive diver at the surface, and searching for a missing diver — all guided by a PADI-certified instructor with a maximum of 4 students.

Requirements to join the course

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
First aid & CPR within the past 24 months
Minimum age 12 years
Medically fit to dive
Course curriculum

What you’ll learn

1

Knowledge Development

Study the theory of dive rescue — recognising stress and problems before they escalate, accident management and emergency planning — completed through eLearning or in the classroom.

2

Rescue Exercises

Practise the core rescue skills in the water: self-rescue, assisting tired and panicked divers, responding to problems at and below the surface, and in-water rescue breathing.

3

Rescue Scenarios

Put it all together in two realistic scenarios — search for and surface a missing, unresponsive diver, tow them to the boat or shore, and manage the emergency from start to finish.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to start the Rescue Diver course?
You need to be a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent) and hold a first aid and CPR certification, such as Emergency First Response (EFR), completed within the past 24 months. You must also be medically fit to dive.
I don’t have a first aid certificate — can I still take the course?
Yes — we can arrange the Emergency First Response (Primary and Secondary Care) course alongside your Rescue Diver training, so you’ll have the CPR and first aid certification you need. Just let us know when you book.
How long does the course take?
The PADI Rescue Diver course takes about 2 to 3 days, depending on your schedule and previous experience.
Is the Rescue Diver course difficult?
It’s challenging but hugely rewarding. You’ll work hard on realistic scenarios, but your instructor builds your skills step by step in small groups of no more than 4 students, so you’re always supported.
What can I do after becoming a Rescue Diver?
You’ll be a more confident, safety-minded diver, and you’ll have met a key prerequisite for the PADI Divemaster course — the first step toward becoming a diving professional.
Do you offer hotel pick-up?
Yes — we offer a door-to-door pick-up service from any hotel in Sharm El Sheikh.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred date, especially in peak season. We also accept last-minute bookings depending on availability — contact us anytime to check for open slots!
When will I receive my pick-up time?
After your reservation is confirmed, our team will contact you with your exact hotel pick-up time and all the details you need for your trip.
