Navigation is one of the most valuable skills a diver can have. On the PADI Underwater Navigator course you’ll learn to explore reefs with confidence and always find your way back to the boat — becoming a more relaxed, efficient and capable diver.
Over 1 day and 3 training dives you’ll master natural navigation, compass patterns, distance estimation and dive-site mapping — guided by a PADI-certified instructor with a maximum of 4 students.

What you’ll learn
Natural Navigation
Use the reef itself to find your way — reading depth contours, sand ripples, light, wave direction and other natural features to navigate without ever looking at a compass.
Compass Navigation
Master your compass with straight lines, reciprocal headings and square patterns, so you can hold an accurate course and return to your exact starting point every time.
Distance & Dive Mapping
Estimate distance with kick cycles, timing and air consumption, sketch a simple dive-site map, then combine every skill in advanced navigation challenges.
